Bluer!

Reluctance

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last lone aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question 'Whither?'

Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

Robert Frost

I made the painting for a friend's birthday present. I found this piece of chart paper lying around in my room with some blue paint splashed on it. So, I put in some snowy mountains , a couple of shadowy snowy conifers, and an icy deep blue lake. What I missed out on was slightly deeper reflections for the trees.
The poem by Robert Frost is one of my favorites and describes me perfectly!
My physics teacher had once compared me to Inertia. I gather he tried to say that it was so darn difficult to get me to change my sloth like attitude and make me solve kinematics problems from HC Verma (ugh!).
There are so many things in me which I need to let go off.Shake myself free from them.Say goodbye to ghosts from the past.To untangle, untwist, fathom..(biggies!).. Move on.
Well..we all have a room for improvement and a reason for change! :)

B'day Retro!

Now that I'm older I've discovered that: I started out with nothing and still have most of it.Now that I've got my head together,my body is falling apart.If all is not lost,where is it? It's not hard to meet expenses.They're everywhere.If God wanted me to touch my toes he would have put them on my knees.I don't remember being absent minded.

Tupur Tapur

Water water everywhere! Welcome to Kolkata.. May 17th 2008 Me,Ma and Dad were on our way to Dad's theater road guest house and it was pouring in Kolkata.
It was so refreshingly beautiful. Sparkling Darkness all around.

We took a taxi from Howrah station. That night the Hoogly looked as if it would swell and flow over. There isn't a time when I haven't been fascinated by the river. The numerous steamers,ferries and boats bobbing around on the vast,still expanse of green-gray water.It was around 10pm at night and Kolkata was still on the move!. I just love the pace of the city. Brisk in the mornings, a slow slumber in the afternoon, and bustling in the nights.

This time I was a well equipped "photographer". My friends would tell you I am more suited to be in front of the lens than behind it! Anyway.. I had a Sony Cybershot W120i digicam and Sony Erickson W 580 Camera phone..grin! Before leaving Bangalore some of the avid photographer friends i know gave me some hurried technical lessons on handling a camera. By the time I arrived in Kolkata, I was all set to go Click,Click,Click! I took some "lovely" shots of the rain washing over the yellow taxis..of street lights glimmering away..of the park street flyover.. the blinking Howrah bridge..It was such a riot of sparkles and twinkles..the rain reflecting all of it..like som
e giant kaleidescope!
We reached the MECON guest house without any hassles and settled into a nice room with a splendid view of the huge TATA Steel building, the Kenilworth, AC market,Victoria Memorial,St.Pauls Cathedral..and the Hoogly Bridge.Kolkata boasts of a very majestic skyline! Dad's guesthouse was bang in the middle of all the action!! yoohoo.. with Ma and Dad around ,travel and stay are always Business Class :)
