To Sid!

This pic in goa!

The guy sitting next to me(in the wierd chinese print shirt!) is my idea of an ideal bong guy! Throughout HP I have admired, respected and loved lots of things about him. I am lucky that the friendship transcends state and company boundaries!

Funnily enough, me n him have never argued with each other whether it be a piece of code,a bug, an enhancement, place to go, things to do! He is agreeable company and never tries to impose his ideals during an argument.

A totally dependable friend who will never fail you, whether it be delivering sweets or smuggled goods to the airport or reviewing some literature or a frantic call for help on Xalan parsers!I will always cherish the huge plate of chowmien we ate at nearly midnight in kolkata earlier this year. And the rickshaw ride across Salt lake!

Given my baseline of a bengali guy. The ones whom I have known or seen so far falls much below!

Fantasy!

The cliffs of Moher, Ireland. Humbling even the biggest of us !

On my desk at office. I have this clipping from the newspaper of Ireland’s giant causeway and the mighty Cliffs of Moher.. It talks of ruthless force of the Atlantic washing away everything in its path and on the other hand the rocks defending this onslaught since time immemorial. Tides change and tilt the balance in favor of one or the other.

Every time I feel a void I look at them and wonder that Life has so much in store for us to see and do!

Someday and some way I am going to be standing atop these cliffs and gazing at the green frothy sea below and the blue skies beyond! Because in the mighty battle of the Atlantic and the Cliffs the one winner was me, one who can witness the beauty of it all.

The PiMan!

I have a zillion memories of KC( GLKC).. Someday I m going to write a dipped in cynicism biografy of this great "man". Till then... He asked me to write three of his biggest strengths.. I blog them here.. just for the record!

1> It would have helped better to know your weaknesses! :P

2> Good networking Skills: What we call jugad in plain layman’s hindi! KC’s has this varied collection of friends and well wishers who surprisingly are always in the correct place at the correct time whenever he needs help or advice! This amazing network is one of his greatest strength’s. What he knows he gets it reviewed from them, what he doesn’t he outsources! J The best part about this is that he also shares this magic network with others! J For example: when we needed some insight into B schools or gyan on making a good video!

3> Creativity and an argumentative mind: Sheer creativity keeps this guy ticking! I used to be amazed to hear some of the ideas he put across the table at our IT IS meets. 99% of the time they would be intuitive and original and not just for the sake of saying something smart! You just got to see the IT IS video to understand his creative levels. Or you can see him dancing a totally convincing salsa at our dance competition! His best take would definitely be the antakshiri competition he organizes! Kc’s mind never accepts stuff at one go. He rationalizes, debates , thinks, analyzes, weighs pros and cons and then finally either gulps a thought or spits it right out!

4> An elephants memory: being a national level chess player does help I guess! He is a walking talking bollywood music encyclopedia. Once taught or told he never forgets. Whether it is a supply chain funda or someones fav color!

Cheers to Phrendship!

Speedy Getaways! :)

So!

We left at 9 45 pm from bangalore .

Reached hyd at 9 in the morning

Dumped ourselves at SK’s place( he passed from IIT and is doing his phd in Arizona state!) . His mom attacked us with plates of food and gulab jamoon. So we kind of obliged! ;) She is an awesome cook and a extremely talented artist.

Took a nice bath in “hyderabadi municipality hardly any water in the tap “ water! And hit the streets!

Spent some 2 hours of bliss at salarjung museum.. My takeaway… I cud definitely get lost in the museum anyday anytime !

Went to Karachi bakery at mozamjahi market and bought kilos o biscuits!

Sped past hussain sagar lake and was nearly blown away by the wind!

Hogged for life at paradise,… its one the mostest famous biryani joints in hyd!

Went to Golconda……. And soaked in some terrific history! And of course the wind nearly knocked us off again! My friends decided that I knew more than guide and hence I hav an alternative career option now!

Came back to the city and headed for charminar..

Charminar was beatific, got bedazzled in the churi bazaar! And wowed at the thin slice of moon in the sky! Had some super irani chai and bought a pair of hyd mojris! We wanted to go to some nice hookah shops and get wrong ideas! But we just had time to smoke the hyderabadi air … spicy keema like!

Head to the bus stand and created a major confusion by boarding the wrong buses! We Were rescued on time.. found right bus.. and snored away to glory!!

I dont think I was able to move a muscle in my body after all the speeding across the city we did!! But … every bit of the tiredness was worth it!

PS: I know hyd and golconda like the back of my hand now!
